SANDOVAL

SANDOVAL
SS07
New York

Blame it on the rain that halted the midtown to downtown flow of key editors and buyers - those who weathered the inclement conditions however, were slapped with one of the more interesting presentations of the NY season. Hairstylist Ramona E teased out an UltraViolet anticoiff and the pulsating shrills of originial soundtrack arranged by emerging art wunderkind Babak Radboy was in one word: genius. For a designer with no backing whatsoever, Michael Carbaugh produced some striking moments of coolly executed luxury. Jaquards, transparent pleats, black matte sequin.
The Sandoval woman remains considerably more aloof than her North American counterparts (which won't make things easy for Carbaugh) of course however, therein lies the appeal.
